Dr Nizar Merali is one of the founding partners at GP Direct.

His special interests include managing men’s diseases in general, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart disease, depression and medico-legal work.

Dr Imtiaz Gulamali

Dr Imtiaz Gulamali joined the Practice as a partner in 2003. His special interests include rheumatology, diabetes, respiratory medicine and cardiology.In addition his non-clinical interests lie within the field of medical education.

He is currently a GP trainer, GP Appraiser and chair of Harrow CCG’s Education Forum. He is currently the clinical governance lead within the Practice. Dr. Gulamali was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2010.

Dr Tayyaba Sherif

Dr Tayyaba Sherif is one of the founding partners at GP Direct.

Her special interests include family planning and child development. Dr Sherif is currently the Diabetes lead within the Practice.Dr Sherif is also joint safeguarding lead.

Dr Rabia Yaqoob

Dr Rabia Yaqoob is one of the founding partners at GP Direct. Her special interests include female health, child health, chronic disease management and joint injection. She is currently a GP trainer, the women’s and children’s health lead within the Practice and is also the educational lead.Dr Yaqoob is also joint safeguarding lead.

Dr Shahla Ahmad

Dr Shahla Ahmad joined the Practice as a partner in 1999. Her special interests include family planning, mental health and continuing care for the terminally ill. She is also involved in service redesign and until recently worked closely with the local health authority in reshaping services.

Dr Umar Khan

Dr Umar Khan joined the Practice as a partner in 2002. His special interests include cardiology, nephrology (kidney related issues), respiratory medicine, neurology, diabetes and care of the elderly. He currently works for NHS Harrow as a GP with a special interest in cardiology.

Dr Uday Kumar joined GP Direct in April 2013. He has a special interest in teaching and training. His special interests also include diabetes, chronic disease management, rheumatology and musculoskeletal disorders, child health and geriatric medicine.  Dr Kumar is the practice prescribing lead.

Dr Ajaykumar Trivedi joined the practice in March 2016 as a full time salaried GP. He has a wealth of experience as a GP and as a hospital clinician. He has a special interest in cardiology and chronic diseases.

Dr Sarika Shah

Dr Sarika Shah joined the practice as a salaried GP in September 2017 following completion of her GP Registrar training at the practice, she was under the Hillingdon training scheme. She completed a year of Core Medical Training prior to GP training. Her interests lie in general medicine & paediatrics. She would like to develop a specialist interest in diabetes.

Dr Farhana Dudhia

Dr Farhana Dudhia joined the practice as a salaried GP in June 2018. Dr Dudhia has over 10 years experience as a GP and completed her medical training at St Georges. She worked in various practices across North West London and has been involved in training medical students and being a supervisor for clinical pharmacists. Dr Dudhia has a specialist interest in dermatology and women’s health.

Dr Ali Dhankot

Dr Ali Dhankot qualified from Imperial College in 2004 and has previously worked in various practices in North West London before joining GP Direct as a salaried GP in October 2020.  He has an interest in musculoskeletal medicine and medical education.  As well as working at GP Direct, Dr Dhankot is Head of Year 5 at Imperial College School of Medicine and also works for NW London CCG as Clinical Lead for IT, Digital Innovation, Online Consultation and General Surgery.

Dr Jamila Sherif

Dr Jamila Sherif joined the practice as Salaried GP in September 2021. She qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ in 2003 and has worked as a GP in Harrow for over 10 years. Her special interests include dermatology and women’s health, including family planning (she is a coil and implant fitter). She plans to gain expertise in the areas of menopause, allergy, lifestyle medicine and diabetes. She is enthusiastic about medical education, community engagement and tackling health inequalities. She is a GP Trainer and GP Appraiser. 

Dr Nabi Bakhtiari

Dr Nabi Bakhtiari

Dr Bakhtiari is a graduate of Trinity College Medical School in Dublin. He received his Surgical Fellowship Certificate from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland after working in a number of different surgical specialities in the Irish Republic. He then started training in cardiac surgery, initially in Dublin and then, following a year spent in USA, he moved to UK to continue his training. He decided on a change of career in 2012 and following successful completion of GP training in East Midlands, he moved to London in 2016. He joined GP Direct in August 2021. His main interest is surgical aspects of diseases encountered in Primary Care.

Dr Mandana Emami

Dr Emami Joined GP Direct in July 2022. After completing her GP training in the East Midlands in 2011, she relocated to London and has been working since then in different surgeries and out-of-hours settings across Northwest London.  Her interests include mental health and neurodiversity, women’s health, children’s health, and diabetes. Medical education is her other passion, and she plans to become a GP trainer. She speaks Farsi as an additional language.

Qualified from Imperial College in 2015 and completed her GP training in NW London in 2021. She joined GP Direct in 2022. 

Dr Ayia Al-Asadi

Dr Al-Asadi graduated from University College London in 2012 and completed her GP training in North West London thereafter joining as a salaried GP in 2023. With more than 10 years medical experience, her special interests include children’s health, mental health and wellbeing,  end of life care, and lifestyle medicine. Dr Al-Asadi believes in individualised, empathetic and all rounded care to honour the role of a GP as a family doctor. As an advocate for health equality and patient wellbeing, Dr Al-Asadi is also a paediatric clinical fellow working with Sphere PCN to develop projects that better serve the local community. She is doing the GP trainer course to train the next generation of GPs. Dr Al-Asadi speaks Arabic and always has stickers for children!
