Cervical Screening (smears)

All of our nurses are fully trained in cervical screening. The national cervical screening programme offers smears to women aged between 25 and 64. If you are aged between 25 and 49 you should receive an invite for a smear every three years and if you are aged 50 to 64 you should receive an invite every five years. It is strongly recommended that you take up this invite as it is a proven method of early detection of changes in the cervix which can go on to cause cervical cancer.
